WELCOME, and thank you for your interest in GLENCOE INTERFAITH BUILDERS


Glencoe Interfaith Builders (GIB) is a collaboration of eight congregations serving Glencoe and the surrounding communities. It was formed in early 2001 with the purpose of harnessing the resources of our interfaith community to help build homes in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Lake County.

GIB sponsored and built it's first house (the Gomez home) in North Chicago which was completed in the Spring of 2002.   GIB's second house (the Parker home) was built over the course of Fall and Winter 2003 and dedicated in the Spring of 2004. Followed by our third house (the Crump home) dedicated in Spring 2006, these houses were part of 23 homes built in Habitat's Carter Woods community in Waukegan. If you are interested in joining your interfaith neighbors in building a Habitat for Humanity house please keep in mind that...
    You must be at least 16 years old
    You don't need to be a member of a participating congregation
    No construction skills or experience is required.
     All you need is the desire to help
    The work day is from 8 A.M to 4 P.M.
    You must sign and bring with you the Waiver of liability for Adults or Minors (age 16-18)
